Description
During the 1960s, at the height of the counterculture movement. Nepal was a popular destination amongst Westerners seeking an alternative way of life; and part of what constitutes the “Hippie Trail”. George Harrison of the Beatles is said to have visited Nepal in 1969. The illustration here is both inspired by the music of the Beatles during their “psychedelic” phase as well as the art of Heinz Edelmann, who was the art director and character designer for the Beatles’ animated film “Yellow Submarine”.
